Counting Poster 2 With a little push from my agent I have changed my counting poster, for the better I think. I think it has a little more energy in it. The individual numbers and their designs could also be great kids birthday cards, wall stickers as well as a poster. I will probably start with the poster though!

Counting Poster I have been working on a new print for my Early Learning Category .  This is hand drawn and coloured  in Adobe.  My Adobe classes have paid off!  I think these could also make a fun range of kids cards.  Kids World Map Yes, I have finished my kids world map. Wow, it has taken me a month of very long days to finish it. I think it looks great. What do you think? It is not available as a poster on my kids wall art site yet but I will keep you posted when it is!

  USA Kids Map My new agent has sold one of my designs to a large puzzle manufacturer, Ravensburger . My USA map will be sold as a large floor puzzle in America from January 2013. Pretty exciting! They wanted a few slight changes on the puzzle, I have to say, it makes the image work even better! Can't wait to get some samples, I will post an image of the puzzle as soon as I have one.

 Sheep Nursery Print I am at last starting to license my work, and my new agent will be showing my childrens art at Surtex and The Licensing Show. My work has never been licensed out before so I am quite excited about this new venture. She will also be introducing an idea I have for a kids animated series called The Herdvillians (working title). We have shown this to a few people in the industry and are getting some good feedback. A new piece of work to add to my christening gift and baby gifts category on CarlaDaly.ie . In October 2011 I received a call from my brother, Simon, that his 19 year old son had decided to focus the next few months working on a porfolio for art college and would I help. Christian had just passed his leaving cert and then realised that what he wanted to be was an artist. Christian used to spend time with me in my studio as a child and always enjoyed art, but that was the last thing I had seen him draw, and had no idea what type of creative he would be. I obviously said I would help and five months later after Christian sitting in my work room (which is quite small) painting, drawing, sculpting, has today delivered his porfolio to his first art college for review. Nerve racking stuff! I think he is a very powerful creative and his passion is to become an animator, which I have no doubt he will become. I find running my own business gives me very little time to be a creative. I promised myself when January came I would work on some new art. The first week back was really busy getting orders out but now I have completed a rough for a new personalised art print. It is based on the idea of Noah's Ark but will be personalised with a child's name, date of birth, weight, hospital and family names. The the picture will personalised like this.... Carla's Ark, 24.6.2011 etc. This will be added to my Christening Gifts category which is a very popular category with my Irish customers. I have started painting it in, this will take a while and I will post you the final artwork when it is finished. It is so nice to pick up a paintbrush again!

I haven't blogged for a while, lazy me! I have been very busy and to add to all my work I have had my websites redesigned, both CarlaDaly.com and CarlaDaly.ie are completed, CarlaDaly.co.uk will be finished this week. A wonderful designer Viv Duignan designed it for me and I love it! I also think it is really working for me, in the short time I have been live (since Christmas) sales have doubled. So here is to a busy 2012 and thanks Viv :-)
